Panther Talk: Ranking 2019 Football Games Intrigue

4th of July has passed and the next holiday on our calendar is opening kickoff for the 2019 Pitt Panthers! We can't wait for some Pitt football so we helped ourselves get ready for the season by ranking each of Pitt's games from least amount of intrigue to most!

12. UNC Tar Heels Nov 14th (Home-Thursday Night)
  • New coach and a Thursday night! How exciting...oh wait...UNC... you know how this game usually goes. Until the curse is broken, we are just scared to death for this game every season. At least we have an acceptable excuse to drink on a Thursday.
11. Delaware Blue Hens Sept 28th (Home)
  • Hopefully it's a nice day, Pitt put's up 62, and we get the backups some experience
10. Ohio Bobcats Sept 7 (Home)
  • 11 AM kickoff says it all. This may be low on the list, but a low key VERY scary game for our Panthers.
9. Duke Blue Devils Oct 5th (Away)
  • Not basketball? No Daniel Jones? Meh. Just a divisional matchup, Jay-Z won't show up this time.
8. Boston College Eagles Nov 30th (Home)
  • Good team, but it's all about stopping AJ Dillon. Classic Big East Matchup.
7. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Nov 2nd (Away)
  • Who cares about GT? The only positive is no more triple option!!!
6. VT Hokies Nov 23rd (Away)
  • Arguably Pitt's other top rival in the ACC, but they're currently in the middle of a meltdown. Blacksburg is a great road trip if you have not made it yet though!
5. Syracuse Orange Oct 18th (Away)
  • Arguably Pitt's top rival in the ACC and these games are always competitive. Plus Danny DeVito's son is the QB.
4. Miami Hurricanes Oct 24th (Home)
  • They have negative quality QB's, yet are the biggest threat for the Coastal with that defense and Diaz.
3. UCF Golden Knights Sept 21st (Home)
  • Top 25 team coming to Heinz Field! UCF has been the darlings of college football the past two seasons,  but no Milton, so should be interesting how big his loss affects their team.
2. PSU Nittany Lions Sept 14th (Away)
  • 100th matchup and we're actually the more experienced team this time. One last time for this rivalry.
1. UVA Cavaliers Aug 31st (Home)
  • Sets the tone for the season in week 1, against many national media outlets favorite to win the ACC Coastal; we cannot wait until Pitt squashes their ridiculous Coastal hype week 1 under the lights at Heinz Field!  Plus football is back!
What games are you most looking forward to this season? Let us know and thanks for reading!

As always, Hail to Pitt!

-Aaron and Ryan, TGYK
