Let's Brunch: Point Brugge Review

Brunch: It's not Breakfast, It's not Lunch, It's just Better.

Welcome back to our next segment of "Let's Brunch!" This week, we got a little boujee and went to Point Brugge in Point Breeze. This is a place that I have never heard of before, but google said it is a great place and when is google wrong? I am always up for trying new and different places in our search to find the best brunch in the Burgh. Let's get to the point (no pun intended) and let's brunch!

Pittsburgh Locations: Point Breeze, Highland Park, North Shore

Environment/Vibe: Straight up, boujee. This is a fancier brunch and has a really nice vibe to it. They have some outdoor seating, but the inside is also very nice and a great place if you are trying to have a "classier" brunch.

Alcohol/Bottomless Mimosas?: The people have been calling for it, and we finally went to another brunch with some alcohol. I had a mimosa, which slapped, and also made me feel like I was doing some fine dining in its little fancy glass. Not only are there mimosas and bloody marys, but you can get real serious with some champagne or even dive in to their cocktail menu, which includes a WATERMELON mojito (I will be back just to try this drink).

What I ate: Point Brugee has an all inclusive option where you get an entree, side dish, and drink all for one price, and I took great advantage of it as it was a great deal. For my side dish I had yogurt with granola as it is one of my favorite things to eat on a daily basis. It is not very hard to make some decent yogurt with granola, but this combo here was SPECIAL. Great mixture of flavors and a perfect side dish; I highly recommend!
For my entree, I had an omelet stuffed with chorizo and potatoes with guacamole on top. Point Brugee has daily specials and this was their omelet of the day. I have never had chorizo before, but I was feeling a little risky and wanted to give it a try and it did not disappoint. I could have gone without the potatoes in the omelet, but the guacamole on top helped to salvage it. Guacamole is up there with Emma Watson and peanut butter as one of the most amazing things on this earth and it easily enhances any dish. I would recommend this dish to anyone!

Menu Options: I went with a group of friends so I got to see a wide variety of menu options. Some of the dishes that we had were eggs Benedict, a super boujee looking breakfast sandwich, shrimp and grits, and steak migas (whatever the heck migas is), so there are a wide variety of options on the menu. Also, they had some super sweet looking waffles if you like a more sweet brunch. Overall, there are some very good menu options!!

Price: $$$. Between $11-$15 a meal. Throw in a drink and it's around $20 a meal. A little more pricy brunch, but worth it for the vibe and overall atmosphere.

Pro Tip: Don't be an ass like me and wear gym shorts to this nice brunch spot. Dress a little nicer and take advantage of a nice afternoon out. Also, it is street parking only, but I easily found a spot right in front (instead of parking 5 blocks away like at Square Cafe).

Overall, Point Brugge is a nice brunch and has a good atmosphere, but nothing about it "wow'd" me. It is a safe brunch and I would definitely go back, but we here at TGYK have high expectations when it comes to brunch!

Have brunch spots you think we should try? Let us know in the comments below. Thanks for reading!
