Here Comes the Pain: Extreme Rules 2019 Predictions
It’s time to get extreme folks. Your monthly WWE pay-per-view is Extreme Rules which is always a fun show. Expect tons of things to be broken from announce tables, kendo sticks, and bodies. With Summerslam right around the corner, this show will have some interesting developments in the current feuds and storylines.
Aleister Black vs. Cesaro – Expect this match to be a 5-star classic with all the bells and whistles that’ll keep all wrestling fans on the edge of their seats. Only downfall, this match will only probably last anput 15 minutes. With this match being a debut of sorts for Aleister Black, expect Black to win after one Black Mass. Won’t be easy however, as Cesaro is always a tough competitor and possibly the strongest pound-for-pound and one of the best athletes on the roster.
Prediction: Aleister Black
Cruiserweight Championship: Drew Gulak (c) vs. Tony Nese – A desperate man is a dangerous one, especially when he has nothing to lose. That’s Tony Nese going into Sunday as he’s looking to regain the Cruiserweight title. Unfortunately, the new no non-sense Drew Gulak is too dangerous and just too good. Hopefully this match won’t be relegated to the preshow as the cruiserweights can always use some exposure.
Prediction: Drew Gulak
Raw Tag Team Championship: The Revival (c) vs. The Usos – I hate to admit when I make a mistake, but I swore this match was set to happen at Stomping Grounds, but it didn’t. So everything I said regarding the match then, put that here lol.
Prediction: The Revival
2-on-1 Handicap Match-Smackdown Live Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross – This stipulation is a tad bit ridiculous for Bayley as she has to defend her title against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. I think it plays in Bayley’s favor as this can provide as a launching pad for her career if she’s able to retain the title. I can smell some turmoil that has the potential to brew between Bliss & Cross causing them this match.
Prediction: Bayley
Last Man Standing Match: Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley – If this match is anything like the one on Raw a few weeks ago, neither man will be left standing and this will be a no contest. If this match is last, expect these two behemoths to literally tear the house down. This match is going to be very destructive and not appropriate for children. I think Bobby Lashley is overdue the push everyone expected him to get when he returned to WWE, and I believe now is the time.
Prediction: Bobby Lashley
United States Championship: Ricochet (c) vs. AJ Styles – AJ Styles will 100% have The Club in his corner, and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson make a dastardly pair. I can see their being an eminence amount of shenanigans but on the other hand this will such a great match that any sort of shenanigans may ruin it. Ricochet is a very crafty fellow that is used to having the odds stacked against him, and this is no different.
Prediction: Ricochet
Smackdown Tag Team Championship: Daniel Bryan & Rowan (c) vs. New Day vs. Heavy Machinery – Hear me out, Heavy Machinery have all the momentum in the world behind them and may not get a better opportunity to became SD Live Tag Champs. Even though they’re inexperienced compared to the other two teams, I think they’ll be able to pull off the upset. Also, a big win like this will catapult Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic into superstardom.
Prediction: Heavy Machinery
Winners Take All Mixed Tag Team Extreme Rules Match (Universal & Raw Women’s Title): Seth Rollins (c) & Becky Lynch (c) vs. Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans – These are 4 of the top stars in WWE today but I can’t be the only one that’s somewhat tired of seeing these 4 square off in some capacity. Although an interesting twist in this feud, I can’t see the Beauty and the Beastslayer losing their respective titles. One thing to look out for is the involvement of Brock Lesnar as he’s still waiting to cash in his money in the bank contract.
Prediction: Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch
No Holds Barred Match: The Undertaker & Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre – Yes, The Undertaker is still wrestling. Yes, he’s like 60. Yes, he’s still winning matches by using only 4-maybe 5 moves. Yeah, that’s about it.
Prediction: The Undertaker & Roman Reigns
WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Samoa Joe – Ladies & gentlemen, I think it’s the time we’ve all been waiting for, or at least that I’ve been waiting for. That’s Samoa Joe’s WWE Title reign. He’s too good, too talented, and too dangerous to not come out with the belt. However, Kofi Kingston is no slouch. With over a decade of experience, there’s nothing Kofi hasn’t seen and won’t be ready for. I think this will be match of the night with Samoa Joe beginning his reign of terror with an emphatic Coquina Clutch.
Prediction: Samoa Joe
