The Renegade: Time to Throwback the Uniforms
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the staple franchises not only in the NFL, but in the world of sports for their morals and stability. Ever since being established in 1933 by Art Rooney Sr. the franchise has been in the hands of a single family, three head coaches in 50 years, and has been a pillar since the 70's. Another thing that hasn't changed, much, are the look of the Steelers and the jerseys. The classic black, yellow, and white with striped sleeves has been around since the 1968 season.
As of today, the Steelers had 4 uniforms in 2018-19, no new ones announced for 2019-20, so we'll assume they're sticking to the same 4:
Now in today's day and age where college programs and some NFL franchises are coming out with a ridiculous number of uniform combinations and experimenting with different styles, if you sit back the lack of change in the Steelers uniforms is amazing, if not unique. The traditional home and away's are so clean and have yet to go out of style. That being said, with the combination of 1) resoundingly positive response to the new throwbacks and 2) my undying love for the color rush; If my last name were Rooney, by 2020 I would immediately switch the permanent home/away to the '78-79 design and make the color rush the alternate for the next few years. The all all yellow numbering surrounded by the void of black is sexually arousing!
And for the love of god please never bring back the bumblebee's. For some reason I'm in the minority of hating those jerseys and it has to be because I'm not from Pittsburgh. They are ugly as all hell and the city needs to snap out of the illusion that they were ever nice.

Does the team need a full blackout combo? How about a reverse color rush with all yellow and black numbering?? What about bringing back the '07-11 all-yellow helmets with the color rush??? Let us know what you think of the current getups and if you were in charge would you make changes? Go out of the box? Don't fix what ain't broke?
-Ryan, TGYK Now does anyone know where I can buy that TJ jersey ^^^?
