Let's Brunch: Pamela's Diner Review

Brunch: It's not Breakfast, It's not Lunch, It's just Better.

Welcome back to our next segment of "Let's Brunch!" Last week we got a little hostile with our review of Square Cafe, so this week we are going to simmer down a little bit and check out a place you all know and love, Pamela's Diner (especially if you went to Pitt)! Pamela's is great; if you did not go to Pamela's the morning after a night out drinking, did you really go to Pitt?

We all know Pamela's is great, but where does it rank against the cream of the crop when it comes to brunch? Us here at TGYK like to answer the tough questions, so let's brunch!

Pittsburgh Locations: Oakland, Squirrel Hill, Shadyside, Millvale, Mt. Lebanon, The Strip

Environment/Vibe: Fun. This brunch spot is all about fun. With board games all over the walls, you will feel like a kid again as you are recovering from your night out drinking. If you're a BIG trivia guy like me, you will love their trivia game they have while you wait for you food.

Alcohol/Bottomless Mimosas?: Nope. If you are looking for a brunch to drink, this is not the place for you. (I promise a brunch with mimosas is coming soon!)

What I ate: If you have been following my brunch segments, you have seen that I usually like to eat something with some eggs and toast (because we all know toast SLAPS), but when I go to Pams, I almost always get the HOTCAKES. We love hot takes here at TGYK, but I love few things more in life than these hotcakes. These hotcakes will melt in your mouth and your body may just melt from how great they are. This gif is you after eating these hotcakes...

I don't think I have ever experienced a bigger party than the party that goes on in my mouth when I am eating these hotcakes. If you even remotely like hotcakes, you NEED to get to Pams.

Menu Options: Pam's menu is like your dream girl/boy, it has no flaws. From delicious omelets all the way to the "Morning After" breakfast meal to get you through that tough morning, there are no flaws on this menu. It's one of those places that you get ticked off because there are so many good looking things on the menu that it makes it difficult to choose one. Delicious!

Price: $ (Average of $7-8 a meal).

Pro Tip: If you are going on a weekend, get there early or plan to put your name in ahead of time because the wait can get lengthy! Also, don't be negligent, get yourself a hotcake, you deserve it.

Overall Rating: 9.1/10.

Yea, it's time to break out the decimal points in my ratings! Pamela's loses .9 point simply because the wait can be lengthy and that it would be so much better if they had a mimosa option (the vibe is perfect for a good mimosa). Also, Big Brunch Guy doesn't give out many 10 stars.
